Job Description
Our Client is a fast-growing RNA genomics company in San Diego, CA. The brilliant team of cell and molecular RNA biologists, biochemists, and computational scientists leverage NGS to develop cutting-edge, high-value technologies to enable biopharma and academic researchers to accelerate the development of tomorrow’s RNA medicines. The company is seeking an enthusiastic, driven and highly motivated Sr Business Development consultant.This biotech company is now seeking highly motivated personnel to develop an RNA Genomics business and grow it into a major sequencing platform company in the genomics industry.The candidate should have a track record of success as a leader in biotech business development, growing revenues, and working with big Biotech companies.
This is a part-time consulting position. You will have the flexibility to work on your existing position, and you are expected to meet the quota.
Responsibilities
Generate and manage large-complex sales
Ensure customers are satisfied and making rapid experimental progress
Develop, maintain, and grow repeat business while maintaining strong relationships
Prospect effectively to generate immediate, medium, and long-term sales pipelines to ensure consistent quota obtainment
Negotiate and close deals while minimizing discounting
Effectively communicate technical advantages to customers
Develop a quarterly and yearly business plan that incorporates both strategic and tactical activities
Provide management with insight on competition, market trends, and customer feedback
Manage your sales funnel with a high degree of accuracy
Leverage the expertise of Field Application Scientists to support customers and drive sales
Leverage the expertise of prospecting specialists to maximize customer meetings and drive new sales
Use CRM to manage and track deals independently
Continue to develop technical knowledge related to new, emerging, and related RNA Genomics space
Display a high degree of professionalism both internally and externally
Qualifications
Interdisciplinary higher education: Science and business; knowing RNA biology/therapeutics is a plus
Background
and skills: Biotech product development and commercialization,
successful business development skills, visionary leadership in biotech,
connection to biopharma and academia
Experiences: 5 plus years
of working experience in major sequencing companies, bio-startup and
CRO, IPO experiences, growing revenues, fundraising.
Bachelors in biology/genomics or a related field. A Masters or PhD is a plus
Experience working with Big BioPharma companies with contract size of $1M and above is required
Minimum
of 5 years of relevant sales experience (preferably in either
Next Generation Sequencing, genomics, or single-cell analysis)
Previous molecular biology lab experience is preferred
Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
